Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma and Absentee Shawnee

Julia Giffin (Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma and Absentee Shawnee) joined the firm in 2020.  She works in all areas of the firm’s practice.  Ms. Giffin is a Vice-Chair for the American Bar Association’s Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources Native American Resources Committee. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.

She graduated from Cornell Law School in 2020, where she was on the Executive Board of the National Native American Law Students Association, the President of the Cornell Native American Law Students Association, and a Notes Editor for the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. She worked with multiple clinics allowing her to work with indigenous communities both internationally and within the United States. During law school, Ms. Giffin worked with the American Indian Law Center and interned with the Office of Tribal Justice at the U.S. Department of Justice. Prior to joining the firm, she worked with the Cornell Center on the Death Penalty Worldwide assisting on issues concerning Native American individuals sentenced with the death penalty.
