Biography

Matthew L. Murdock (Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation) joined the firm in 2013 and works in all areas of the firm’s practice.  Mr. Murdock has experience representing tribes and tribal organizations on issues relating to reserved water rights, tribal jurisdiction and sovereignty, the applicability of federal laws of general applicability to tribes, gaming, taxation in Indian country, sovereign immunity, and environmental review and permitting.

Mr. Murdock graduated cum laude from the Arizona State University College of Law, where he received the Dean’s Award for outstanding performance in law school.  Mr. Murdock received his B.A. in political science with a minor in American Indian Studies from the University of Arizona.
