Douglas B. L. Endreson joined the firm as an associate in 1983 and became a partner in 1985. He is particularly active in litigation involving tribal jurisdiction, Indian gaming, Indian hunting and fishing rights, tribal land claims, and tribal taxation and tax immunity issues. His reported decisions include Minnesota v. Mille Lacs Band of Chippewa Indians, 526 U.S. 172 (1999); Fond du Lac Band of Chippewa Indians v. Carlson, 68 F.3d 253 (8th Cir. 1995); Bowen v. Doyle, 880 F. Supp. 99 (W.D.N.Y. 1995), aff'd, 230 F.3d 525 (2d Cir. 2000); Reich v. Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Comm'n, 4 F.3d 490 (7th Cir. 1993); and Fluent v. Salamanca Indian Lease Auth., 928 F.2d 542 (2d Cir. 1991), cert. denied, 502 U.S. 818 (1992). Mr. Endreson has also served as a Visiting Professor of Law at the University of New Mexico Law School and Arizona State University College of Law, and as a Lecturer in Law at Columbia Law School. He regularly speaks at national Indian law symposia and is the author of a number of articles in the field of Indian law.
Mr. Endreson received his undergraduate degree from Colby College in 1975. He graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1978 and received his L.L.M. in 1980. Bar and Court Admissions District of Columbia; State of Wisconsin; U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin; and U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th Circuits.
